Namun Parreira membantah keras kabar tersebut dan merasa dirinya tak pernah mengkritik Domenech. “Dia tidak akan menjadi pelatih Prancis lagi dan saya hanya ingin menyalami dia. Domenech mengatakan bahwa saya telah menghina tim Prancis dan saya merasa tidak pernah mengatakan hal tersebut,” jelas Parreira seperti yang ditulis FIFA.com

Domenech memang sosok yang tak pernah disukai pemain atau para penggemar sejak mengambil-alih Prancis di tahun 2004.
